Hi – my name is Kirsty ☺

I am a professional music tutor and musician with over 22 years of experience. My main instruments are drum kit and vocals. I come from a family of musicians and entertainers, so music and the arts are where I feel most at home.

Drum lessons are based at my home in Reading and are conducted on a Roland TD1K electric kit, an excellent mid-range kit to learn on. Lessons are available for both adults and children from aged 6 years and above. I have a 100% pass rate for graded exams and teach up to grade 7.

My approach to teaching is laid back and friendly. I try to tailor my lessons to the individual needs of the student. I believe that it is not how much you practice but what and how you practice that makes the difference – if a student is inspired and has clear goals, the desire to practice should arise naturally and should be challenging but ultimately self-rewarding.

Learning an instrument can be incredibly therapeutic and a great confidence builder that can have positive impacts on other areas of a student’s life. There’s nothing quite like beating the stress away to a great groove. Many of my students tell me how much they love coming to the lessons as a welcome break from everything else and that is one of the most rewarding things about what I do ☺
